Much of Palmers Green was built between about 1905 and 1914, when the Broomfield Park and Old Park estates were laid out. Typical houses are red brick semis and terraces with deep bays, small paned upper lights and half glazed front doors with decorative glass.

The Lakes Estate conservation area

Enfield Council describes the carved timber porches as the outstanding feature of these houses, and an Article 4 direction controls changes such as window replacement.
