A porch keeps the weather off the front door, gives you room for coats, shoes and parcels, and puts a second locked door between the street and your hallway. It also stops the hall losing heat every time the front door opens.

Most porches fall under permitted development. We check this at the free survey and advise if your home is in a conservation area.
