Composite front doors: the four colours North London chose this year
A front door is the one part of a house that every visitor touches, and it is the first thing a buyer notices. Composite doors give you the look of a painted timber door with a solid core, a wipe clean finish and a multi point lock, and they never need repainting. Here are the four colours our customers in Southgate, Enfield and Barnet have chosen most often this year, all fitted by our own installers.
Sage green
The surprise of the year. Soft, warm and very much at home against red brick or cream render, sage green suits both a 1930s semi and a Victorian terrace. Paired with chrome furniture and a plain glazed top light it looks calm rather than trendy.
Deep red
A classic for a reason. A red composite door with a white frame and a fanlight above lifts the whole front of a house, and it photographs beautifully. Our red doors come with obscure or clear glazing and a choice of black, chrome or gold handles and letter plates.
Anthracite and slate grey
Grey remains the choice for modern extensions and for anyone matching new anthracite windows. A flush, panel free design with a long stainless pull handle gives a contemporary look; a cottage style grey door with a small square light keeps it traditional.
Navy blue
Navy is the colour that makes a white rendered house look expensive. It works with a fanlight and side panels on a bigger porch, or as a single door with a decorative glass panel on a terrace. Most of our navy doors go out with satin chrome furniture.
